Most fun and challenging? Calculating and applying Volume Correction Factors for crude oil sales. S/34. RPG II. Calculations required 10 decimal places (simple but neat trick, that one). There was a sample fortran program that someone else in the shop spent three months trying to convert to RPG. He gave up. I took the formula (It was defined really nice, step by step, half adjust here, truncate here, etc) and wrote it in RPG II in about 3 days. Worked perfectly. [Background: Crude oil is quoted at a price per barrel, 60 degrees Far temp, 60 degrees specific gravity. When you pump it out of a storage tank, it is never either the temp or SG, so the volume is "corrected" to standard for payment.] -Bob Buchanan +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
