This will only work if you control everything between the machines.  Go over
a VPN or Internet, and it will not work.  If you know your application will
only be used locally, then this is a quick fix that might be perfectly
adequate. But it will be one of those time bombs just waiting to explode in
somebody's (probably innocent) face.  Think about it.  Everything is working
for years.  Now one of the machines is migrated to a different box (say you
outgrew your 170).  Now the line description gets recreated.  Application
breaks big time.  In the meantime, you have moved on down the road.

Or you might use it as a quick fix for right now.  Giving you time to
implement the approach Jeffrey Morris and I both talked about.

Check the MTU (Maximum Transmission Unit)  in your line: CFGTCP, option 1.
Should be at least buffer size + 40 (in your case 2088).
