Robert, If you still have a backup of the TAATOOL source files from the CISC box, you can restore them on your RISC box and compile the tool you need. I think the general rule of thumb was, if you were going to use a TAA tool in a production environment, to copy the source from the TAA source files into your production source files and compile from there. Anyone still on the CISC box should do this for all the TAA tools they're using before they migrate to a RISC box. Of course, some tools won't migrate. Especially those that relied on CPYSPLF's of printed output. But you will discover these soon enough. ;-) - Dan Bale -----Original Message----- From: Robert Perno [mailto:r_perno@wshein.com] Sent: Tuesday, March 14, 2000 3:04 PM To: Midrange list serve (E-mail) Subject: TAA Productivity Tools Our shop used the DUPSPLF command which was part of IBM's QUSRTOOL library. Approximately, 6 months ago we upgraded to a RISC box running OS/400 release V4R3 which I think disabled our use of this command. My understanding is that I must now purchase the TAA Productivity Tools package in order to restore this functionality to our system. Can anyone out there shed a little more light on the subject. In order to purchase this package I must cost justify this with my boss. I have downloaded a list of the tools in the package off the TAATOOL website and must admit that I was quite impressed with the number of tools available. It would also be great to here from people using the tools a ball park percentage of number of tools used or if they recommend purchasing the package. Robert D.
