One alternative method to (almost) ensure no release compatibility problems is to create a stand-alone file of the fields you are interested in from say DSPOBJD command (eg. ODLBNM, ODOBNM etc). Then in your cl program, do a DSPOBJD to a separate file in QTEMP say. Then do a CPYF from the DSPOBJD file into your known stand-alone file specifying FMTOP(*MAp *DROP) and hey presto you have a guaranteed file with no LVLCHK or Fromat problems. Obvious disadvantages - it takes longer due to the extra CPYF involved. +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
