Hi I'm new to this list so apologies if this has already been answered previously (archive is currently off-line). A colleague had a go at setting up local e-mail on our AS/400 using the studio on ibm website: www.as400.ibm.com/tstudio/ebizv4r3/mail/index3.htm. It all seems so simple except, we (me as well), cannot get it to work. Using Netscape Messenger as a pcclient to send mail connects to the AS/400 & prompts for password correctly but then the msg disappears. The QTSMTPSRVR job cpu to increase but there is a message (TCP2010) in the QTSMTPCLNT job saying it cannot forward or return the e-mail (but no reason given). The SMTP domain entry (F19 in CHGDIRE) - does this have to be a .co.uk or .com if we are only using the system internally ? Do we need to set up our Hosts file on the PC to indicate where the SMTP domain is ? TIA Mike Barton The information in this e-mail and any attached files is confidential.
