Performing your file reorganizations on a regular basis is just a 
simple and good administrative housekeeping procedure.  

To answer your question, does it save space, the answer is YES!

I had a client that hadn't performed a reorg in years.  After 
performing the reorg, their disk space was reduced by 24%.  Guess 
what!  Their users also noticed an improvement in the application 
response times and batch job runtimes, even queries.  Imagine that!  

This may not be the case with every AS/400 installation, but give it 
a shot and let us know of your results.
