Martin,

RPG cluttered up with specialized tricks?  You think calling external
procedures is specialized?  Tricky?  No, man!  External procedures make
programs a lot easier to read and understand.  Its modular!  That's the
beauty of ILE.  You can interface with procedures written in any other ILE
language, without being an expert in that language.

Let me scream, holler, rant and rave yet again....  

You guys may think it is progress to be sticking all this stuff into RPG,
and probably it is.  But a few years from now when RPG is cluttered up with
all sorts of specialized little tricks, where will the programmers to
maintain it be found? What qualified C programmer is going to be doing RPG
maintenance work?

Jon thinks 10000.01 is a pain in the butt... wait til this stuff starts
hitting the update fan.

Sorry.  I'll be quiet now. No need to call the authorities.
