You shouldn't get me started on this subject! My blood pressure rises. When you use embedded SQL a pre-processor is run before the compiler. Because of the technology used the preprocessor has to be updated to accommodate every change in the RPG language. The SQL folks who own the pre-processor have repeatedly failed to keep up to date with changes in the compiler.
