The main trick with the parms is determining their details - the number of them, their size, the order in which they are passed, and whether there are any hidden ones. Dave McKenzie published a very useful utility for retrieving the source for any AS/400 command. I believe it's referenced on News/400's shareware/freeware page at their web site - if my memory isn't completely shot that's where I got it. Once you know what the parms are, it's just a matter of defining them correctly in your validity checking program - a tedious job on a command like CHGJOB, but not terribly difficult. Good luck! One note: You MUST check the command for changes whenever you install a new release of OS/400, and make sure your validity checker is properly attached and working. Again, it's not difficult, but if you're on a tight schedule during an upgrade it's potentially onerous. Dave Shaw Spartan Mills Spartanburg, SC -----Original Message----- From: Antje Waelde [mailto:antje.waelde@duravit.de] Hello All, I want to restrict the CHGJOB-command. For this I have looked at the archive and found a tip to use a validity checker program, but I also read, that it is difficult to handle all the parms. I have never before wrote a validity checker-program and in the books I found nothing that would help me. Can anyone help ? +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
