Too bad it wasn't sent in XML! <g,d&r> -----Original Message----- From: Stone, Brad V (TC) [mailto:bvstone@taylorcorp.com] Sent: February 07, 2000 11:37 AM To: 'MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com' Subject: RE: Tilde delimited fields in a PC file - how to upload & convert fie lds to AS/400 physical file Looks like X.12. (Is it?) Either you need to do some good old fasioned text parsing, or you may be able to use the CPYFRMIMPF command. If it is X.12, I would look into a package that will parse this for you. I would like the tilde's gone, where each tilde acts as the delimiter to begin a new field. Can Client/Access do this job by itself? What other options to I have. Does anyone know of a magazine article with a free utility program? Other options? Must I build the DDS by hand? I have a listing of field names and lengths. The data is from a query tool on a Unix box.
