Dean's response could account for a lot of the problems this week ... but 
another reason for the slow response in general boils down to computing 
power :(

The system that hosts the mailing lists is a AMD K5 166 ... while that used 
to be quite adequate to process the lists, it's being asked to do a LOT 
more now than it used to.

I'm currently looking to upgrade the system to a lower end P II ... right 
now it's just waiting on a check from amazon.com :)
