Larry, It's my contention that (at the current rate that we use our systems) that you never have to IPL a RISC AS/400, except for operations that require an IPL (PTFs, new releases, upgrades, etc.). The only exception to this is QRPLOBJ. IMHO, IBM needs to create an extension to cleanup that does a smart cleanup of QRPLOBJ, which tests for objects in use. The old design to cleanup at the end of IPL was adequate for CISC, but not for RISC.
