Al, I do not have software support, so I was trying to avoid making that call. If I can't resolve this, I will call. As someone else pointed out, I suspect a library or object's authority was changed although the system did come up normally when I last IPL'd and the cum was applied. I will run a RCLSTG for good measure. I left my notes on the damaged object at home, but it was a system object in QUSRSYS that became damaged. There was a recovery program. In this case, the system re-booted itself. I was very surprised that I didn't just get a message on the console. The SCPF joblog indicated that it encountered the damaged object, couldn't allocate qconsole, and then IPL'd the system.
