F Y I Three+ years ago, Celestica was a wholly owned subsidiary of IBM. The facility in Toronto used to be IBM Manufacturing, Canada. They made products such as: Selectric typewriters, 029 and 129 keypunch, 5250 terminals, assembled System/34s, power supplies, memory dimms, PCMCIA cards. (Their very first product B4 the 70's was a cheese slicer) They implemented BPCS to facilitate becoming independent from IBM ( I was there approx. 9 months off and on as a BPCS consultant ), and have since become a separate company. Don't know if IBM still has any ownership. Alex Moore ~ Ellis Hosiery Mills, Inc. alexm@ellishosiery.com The news says that the Canadian company Celestica is a spin off of IBM Canada. Do IBM own part of Celestica then? +--- +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
