Al, Not only that, if you do not have some capacity to start LPARing with, it can be very expensive to implement. The other gotcha for LPAR right now is that it does not facilitate easy sharing of common resources across partitions. I hope this gets improved here in the near future. All in all, I like the concept of LPAR in the AS/400 arena, but it has a long way to go in terms of how LPARing is implemented in the S/390 world today.
