>IF YOU KNOW OF A PACKAGE TO TRACK PRG MAINT> We've been using Aldon's Change Management System for the past 7 years. We're very pleased with the job it does. Currently, we have a 2-pronged production environment. The left column is a 'major project implementation.' Programs are 'checked out' to the developer library for the major project, and are then promoted to the library 'below' it in the column. When a project from the Major Project Production Library has been blessed for production, it is moved sideways into the LIVE LIVE environment. This allows us to have a fully parallel test environment that feeds into the live-live environment: Developer libraries (1 per programmer) Developer Library V V Major Project Integration Library V V Major Project Quality Assurance Library Live Environment Quality Assurance Library V V Major Project Production Library > > > > > > > > > > LIVE LIVE Environment And you can repeat this for each application. If you don't need the bells and whistles, you can simply have Developer, QA, and LIVE environments. But the flexibility is there. --Paul E Musselman PaulMmn@ix.netcom.com +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
