yeah, me too.  it sounded like a token ring/ethernet problem, but i
don't know nuthin about token ring, so i'm clueless there.

or it could be a bad cable, or a problem with the hub, or one of many
other things.  
i feel for her too, when i got into as/400 ethernet, i had years of
experience under my belt.  

but i don't think ibm is any worse that anyone else.  when i was
installing the nt option pack, for internet serving, i got some nasty
messages, and bill gates didn't return my calls either.
