Didn't work.  Not only did it freeze my machine but now the DOS Prompt 
won't even open correctly.

Open a DOS window and unpack it there, from the command line.  (No, I 
don't use a mouse either! :-)   Be aware that unpacking it will create a 
bunch of files in your current directory.  I usually create a directory 
like AFPDriver, move the .exe there and then unpack it.  Then I can easily 
clean it all up without having to figure out what files came from where...
