        Have you considered setting the parameter in the controllers/devices
        descriptions in question to On Line At IPL *YES?  I am making the
assumption
        that the line description is not an issue and comes active.  If it
does not,
        change the line description as well.

        It should be a one time change and you are done.  I have 5 AS/400's
and the
        controller/devices are set that way.  When we IPL on the weekend,
they
        automatically come active.
