I agree - but there's a big difference.  All the time the AS/400 supports S36EE
there _has_ to be an RPGII compiler. There are many behavioural differences and
the transition from S36EE to native is not an easy one.

RPG/400 (RPGIII) to RPGIV is not the same situation. I find it hard to justify
keeping existing code in RPGIII let alone doing new development in it.
