Listers, I am trying to set up a reliable link between the company as400 server database and Access on Windows NT with very limited success. I am using Client Access to comunicate between the two systems. Direct ODBC seems impossible, because of the lack of support on our as400-sql for file members. Upgrading the system is not an option (costs). The Data Transfer program looked like an alternative, but provides unreliable results; when I compared the transferred text file with the original table on the as400, some fields contained underscores whereas there should be simple numbers such as '101' or '103'. Does anybody have experience with querying an as400 system from a windows machine without any need to reprogram the as400? I would like to stress this last point, because there is no expertise in house for this. Thanks in advance.
