The data area only contains a 3 character acronym that we use to set the 
library list for that company. The company name is actually stored in a 
control file that you can get to once you have set the library list correctly.

So really, just defining the data area with UDS gets the acronym brought into 
a program, without the need for a procedure. However, I can see that EVAL 
ACRO = GETACRO is a lot easier to follow, logically. Also, as you point out, 
I'll only need to effect changes in one place if we need to change it in the 
future.

Whats more, this is fun stuff to code.
