RE: Rhyme nor reason

The more I see on this thread, the more convinced I become that it's a
CCSID problem -- as someone else has suggested.

Do a WRKJOB, option 2, page down to the bottom and look at both "Coded
character set identifier" and "Default coded character set identifier".
If either or both is/are different between your two jobs (two users)
then that is the source of the problem.  Finding the solution should
then be straightforward.
