Colin, >Would I be right in saying that for 99.9% of the people on this list, a >C compiler is just not an option? I doubt it. This list is skewed towards technical customers, vendors, and consultants. They have a higher propensity to have the C compiler than the average installed base. And I also would not say it is "just not an option". If I needed the C compiler, what I would probably do is sign up for one of the Internet based timeshare providers. At $25-30/month, it would be cheaper than getting a C compiler for my own 400! Of course if I used it much or considered 100% availability of the compiler to be mission critical, then I would get the compiler instead of a timeshare account. But for low volume C compiles, it seems to me to be a viable option. Not that I have tried it. As I have said, my interest is not in developing applications in MI (or C for that matter). My interest is in expanding the possibiliities of RPG IV, and Barbara has proven on numerous occasions that being able to imbed MI instructions via prototyping can be useful, just as I will sometimes use the C library functions when appropriate.
