Kari,

Hear, hear.  It's nice to hear someone acknowledge that this is a
creative profession.  That makes twice in two weeks for me!  All through
my career (twelve years!) when people have asked what I do, I've told
them, and its been, "Oh."  And the conversation moves on.  Until this
year (actually since last year's festive season).  Now it's been, "Oh,
what about the Y2K bug?"

Until the weekend before last, when the mother of one of my son's
friends said, "I'm always impressed with people who do creative work."
I was over the moon.  And she's a social worker, which may not be
creative (though it may) but is _hard_.
