I understood it to be the system had to search a system-maintained bitmap table
to find a place with a deleted record, rather than just adding the record at the
end of the file.

At the last COMMON conference, I seem to remember hearing someone say that
using REUSEDLT(*YES) had a performance hit.

Could someone remind me the details of this hit?
