  • Subject: AS400 Email Part 2
  • From: Marv Noltze <mnoltze@xxxxxxxxxx>

This is a follow up to my earlier request to configure the AS400 to send
email. I obtained the demo version of Gumbo Software's product, installed
it and ran the option to configure the SMTP server. It ran successfully
and I am able to ping the local ISP, which servers as our mail server.
I have used the SNDDST command and the SNDSPLMAIL command from Gumbo
and both say the mail was sent successfully, but I didn't receive
anything. My questions: What else needs to be done? Am I in need of more
software for sending out email? The 'AS400 Email Capabilities' redbook
keeps talking about OV400 and Lotus Notes, neither of which I have. The
AS400 has just the basic license programs on it, no add ons. Do I need to
configure something else or get another software piece?
Thanks for your help.
