Since BRMS was mentioned (and it's not shareware or freeware <BG>) I'll mention LXI's LXIspl™ product. It handles both tape AND optical ! Hit: http://lxicorp.com/prod02.htm for more info ! I got it in at my last job 4 years ago and it paid for itself basically INSTANTLY because our GL users had 10's of thousands of LARGE spool files taking up nearly 18 % of a fairly LARGE system. Saved us having to add disk !!!!
