I'm in agreement with Terry. There is value in the publication, and we need
patience as the web figures out how to be profitable. After all, part of
our professional futures lie in the web being profitable. Hitting the
delete key to delete e-mails is no big deal, and bandwidth issues become
irrelevant as we see the size of some of the e-mails coming through in word
processing formats.

imho.

Enough of the bashing, guys. Their AS/400 Experts Journal is an excellent
publication, and counts among it's contributors many members of this list!
You may not approve of all their online tactics, but lets give some credit
where it's due.

Just my $.02

             Yeah, mine started out:

             Dear ,

I am not certain if I ever registered at the 400 Group, though
I don't
think I did since their bulk distrib doesen't have my name (how
hard
is it to get my name from my email address). I would think that
if I
had ever registered with 400 Group or Search400.com, that they
would
have my name on the registration. They've proved to me that I
want
nothing to do with them and their publications.

Rizal Ahmed [insider@the400group.com] just sent out a bulk email
which I am
sure most of you will get. Now we know where Search400.com got our
email
addresses. The400group mines them, and gives them to Search400.com.
