Not the reply you want probably, but our experience so far is to install Client Access Express.  All those problems and others just go away.  The big plus is the setup for the local printer becomes a user task.

Subject:        Client Access Shutdown Error

OK, ok...  I know  it was discussed here several months back...

Client Access on a PC with Win/95.  After running AS/400 sessions, shut
down PC and get PC errors concerning VSSTAT and LOADWC problems;  PC won't
shut down all the way.

The AS/400 is v4r2 with the latest CUM and Y2K ptfs applied.

I know there was a work around or explanation...  but I didn't bookmark the
info.

Does anyone remember the cure?
