Max number of records in a file -- MIDRANGE-L

     Hi,
     
     Have question about the maximum number of records can have in a 
     physical file.  CRTPF say's that you can have 2,147,483,646 but if you 
     use UPDDTA how can you change more then 99,999,999? Is there really a 
     lamination? When I was working on the S36 you could not have more then 
     8,000,000.
