We use IDEA terminals HTE 4.06-05. Serial and parallel port with support for bar code or light pens. Types the data to your application as if it came from the keyboard. Just make sure the cursor is in the right spot. Christopher K. I see some even have RF (radio frequency) ability. In order to cut down on keying errors, we will require certain vendors to bar code some data on their packing list to us. We currently have a complete PC based data collection system that could do this, but it appears that the prices of the equipment that can attach to a dumb terminal is such that it may be easier (I'm sorry "cost effective") to just "tweak" the interactive application to read the bar code, instead of writing a interface to the PC based data collection system. Also, if I do it interactively, I can perform edits that cannot be done through the PC based system. +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +--- +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
