Short of paying for an upgrade to get functionality I should already have, is there another way to get referer logs? I know there are API calls I can make in RPG ILE to get this info by calling a CGI program, but it seems that v4r2 doesn't even support most of these variables. It will return a few such as the IP address of the client, but not where they came from. I tried using SearchHound and HitBox. They give me the info, but they require a banner to work. I can't allow the banner (although a blank gif would be okay) I am willing to make a CGI call on each page as long as I don't have to display a banner ad. -----Original Message----- From: owner-midrange-l@midrange.com [mailto:owner-midrange-l@midrange.com]On Behalf Of Bleddyn Williams Sent: Thursday, September 09, 1999 10:43 AM To: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com Subject: RE: HTTP server on v4r2 and log files Its not there in V420 in V430 its a separate log and in V440 you get extended logging all in one place. If you want to see a sample Webtrends report from V440 logs then take a look on IGNITe/400 it can be found at http://www.ignite400.org/week_stats/ takes a while to download as I was showing people what you can now do. I am trying to figure out how to turn on referer logs. I see that this can be done in newer versions of OS/400 with RefererLog filename [max size]. I cannot believe that any company would exclude referrer logs in webserver software as it is one of the most important functions of a log file. How do I turn them on in V4R2? +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +--- +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
