Dan,

One thing that I would do in your batch file is add an "if exist" statement
in there. This is one of the best ways of checking to make sure that the
drive is mapped, the directory exists, etc.

The command syntax is as follows:

if exist (criteria) (what to do if true)

And I believe it has an evil brother, "if not exist" (not sure about this
one, you may want to look it up).

For example, you could have the following lines:

if not exist c:\apchecks\*.* md c:\apchecks
copytopcd...

If you want some more assistance with this, please let me know and I'll
bring my old DOS book into the office. (You remember the one with the 5.25"
floppies in the back...)

Currently, we have an application which includes a batch file (running in a
Win95 DOS window) that copies a file from the AS/400 shared folder to the

     CPYTOPCD   FROMFILE(GFCHECK) TOFLR(APCHECKS) +
                  TODOC(GFCHECK.DDT) REPLACE(*YES)
