I was under the impression that 5394 controllers automatically upgrade
themselves by downloading the latest microcode from your AS/400.  I believe
it's when you vary the controller off, then on (perhaps with a RESET(*YES).
Just update to the latest cum tape on the AS/400, and go.

I would expect the 5494, being a newer box, to have the same update
capabilities.
