Paul, > How would an operator who had been taught to use the IBM menus, and -only- > the IBM menus, fare on a test that asked, "How would you display an output > queue?" The answer to this operator would be something like, "Menu options > 3, 13, 27, then type the name of the queue." This person would fair poorly indeed. In the tests which I have worked on the only questions that I recall that reference menu optins are a couple SAVE questions. And these also use the menu text (ie GO SAVE option 21 - "Save Entire System") As you can imagine use of menu options in testing is problematic at best. Options can and do change and remembering them while taking the test would be a problem as well. Imagine choosing from: a) 1, 14, 19, 2 b) 1, 19, 14, 2 c) 19, 1, 14, 2 d) 19, 14, 2, 1 By the time you read that list most people who DID know the answer would begin to doubt themselves. Any ideas HOW to test someone who uses Menu's only??? - LArry > > --Paul E Musselman > PaulMmn@ix.netcom.com > > +--- > | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! > | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. > | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. > | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. > | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com > +--- -- Larry Bolhuis | Trivia Question: What famous car carried Arbor Solutions, Inc | the tags: BDR 529 ?
