Do you have a network drive assigned to your AS/400 on your pc. We were dropping/locking pc5250 sessions until we removed our network drive links. All works well now and also seems to work ok if you start pc5250 before assigning a network drive. -----Original Message----- From: owner-midrange-l@midrange.com [mailto:owner-midrange-l@midrange.com] On Behalf Of Mark A. Manske Sent: Thursday, August 12, 1999 10:51 AM To: 'MidRange AS/400' Subject: V4R4 and client access issues - communications dropping on me I put on V4R4 last Friday night, put on cum ptf number C9117440; this is what happened next; my CA was on V3R1M0, tried to run, would be ok for a few minutes, then the connection would drop, so I upgraded from the AS/400 to V3R2M0, same issue, removed CA and put on Express V4R4M0; same issue; oddly enough this too happens; I can click disconnect and turn right around and click connect, and get a sign on screen almost every time, sometimes I will have to click connect twice to get it (I am not canceling anything on the AS/400 to make this work) it does not matter either if my CA session is "hard-coded" or a virtual device. This is happening to just 4 of us that I know about so far, and about 35 other users are "ok" - any ideas; I did order the latest cum cd yesterday to see if that would help, but have not found anything or anyone else with this issue. Also I have checked settings for the system, LUs, virtual devices, ect. all set to *nomax or they were 64, bumped up to 128 and still those do not solve the issue. The PC's that are having the issue are not even the same configuration (IE5.0 and IE4.0, MSoffice97 SR1 and SR2, outlook97 and outlook98, 64mb and 128mb, internet dial up on them all, but so do other computers that have no problems(even removed dial up and IE4.0 to no avail) Thank you... I am now applying the latest cum PTf number C9229440, but cannot IPL until Friday evening. If anyone knows where else I can look for this issue it would be much appreciated. Mark A.
