I actually tried this before my plea.  I have
replaced/removed/deleted/added units without problems before.  But
doesn't work for the load source disk 1.   It wants me to suspend the
drive(which is ok) and use identical drive to do the replace which
defeats the purpose.  The advanced backup and recovery guide is not very
clear whether you can replace a 2800 unit with a 2801 unit.   DST
wouldn't let me do it.   When you did this, was that a 2800 to 2801
swap?  This raises an interesting question, can two mirrored pairs have
unequal capacities  with the larger one using only enough to match the
smaller drive? AS400 is truly an amazing machine in the way it carefully
handles these problems.   Try that with the FDISK. ;-)
