How to replace load source disk unit 1 on a 2800 with 2801 -- MIDRANGE-L

Folks:

This has got me stumped.  I would like to replace both my 2800 internal
disk books with 2801 internal disk books on my mirrored system asp.
(Because) two mirrored 2800 books provide 640MB while two mirrored 2801
books will provide 1900MB.  This will make sure enough dump space is
available.   The advanced backup and recovery guide says you cannot
remove unit 1 since LIC resides there.  Short of restoring or scratch
install, is there any other way to do this.  Unfortunately the system
unit does not have more than two slots for the 2800 types and each book
is mirrored on the other.
