I have successfully done this to serial printers with Intel Netport print boxes via a remote outq on the AS/400. This will also work with JetDirect boxes. Can't say that I have ever used an embossed card printer but the interface should be the same. Only question is whether it needs any special print formatting beyond simple ASCII text, and if it does is that printer emulation available. (ie does it emulate a common printer such as a ProPrinter or HP Laser or is it proprietary.) If it is proprietary then you may need to use a Windows based printer driver supplied with the printer and a printer session from Client Acess, Netsoft, Rumba, Netwolf (did I say that), or similair so that the PC does the translation. - Larry >Hi All- >Our connection guy asked me to put this out on the list.
