First, understand why you're getting the numeric overflow, and then fix the bugs. If your programs were working fine before, look for alternative ways of doing what what you want. For most uses of truncation on arithmetic operations, there is an alternative that's better. If you can describe what types of operations are being done, we can help suggest alternatives. The easy way is to keep doing arithmetic using the traditional fixed-format opcodes for those operations that overflow. Cheers!
