Cynthia,

We had the same problem on our AS/400 (V4R2).  We went through several
interations of applying individual PTFs for SS1 and TC1 licensed program
products.  I don't remember all of the required PTFs, but if you work with IBM
support or your IR they can assist you.

After several months applying various PTFs, all mail seems to be flowing in and
out using the SMTP/MTA bridge and Lotus Notes mail.  Please e-mail me directly
