M Hello Dave, The last time I had to do this I just called the DLTF CPP. The command enforces the name restrictions, the CPP doesn't care. It just tries to destroy whatever you pass it. The parameters were pretty straight-forward. I don't remember them and I don't have a 400 currently accessible so I can't check. I think the first parm is a 20-byte structure with object in the first 10 and library in the next 10. The second is the object type perhaps without the asterisk. As I recall, the same CPP is used for most of DLTxxx commands. QLI????? Regards, Simon Coulter. «»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«» «» FlyByNight Software AS/400 Technical Specialists «» «» Eclipse the competition - run your business on an IBM AS/400. «» «» «» «» Phone: +61 3 9419 0175 Mobile: +61 0411 091 400 «» «» Fax: +61 3 9419 0175 mailto: shc@flybynight.com.au «» «» «» «» Windoze should not be open at Warp speed. «» «»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«» //--- forwarded letter ------------------------------------------------------- > X-Mailer: Mozilla 4.61 [en] (Win98; U) > Date: Fri, 16 Jul 99 18:33:21 -0400 > From: "Dave Mahadevan" <mahadevan@fuse.net> > To: "midrangel" <MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com> > Reply-To: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com > Subject: How do you delete a file with a ) > > Folks: > > By mistake, when transferring a file I inadvertently put a ) in the name > and now the system wont let me delete it.
