Our Virus Shield program on every PC scans any file that accessed, that's
pretty
much on the fly.

This is true except that antivirus programs are like exercise equipment: it
only works if you use it. For this to work, the antivirus program needs to
be loaded on every PC that accesses QDLS, and probably on those that don't.
The antivirus programs also need to be kept up to date with the periodic
updates. If this is done religiously, then a virus should be caught the very
first time someone tries to access the file with the virus.

I'm not positive, but I think any pc anti virus package that has background
scanning and is network enabled ought to detect virus infected files any
time you try to open them.
