To get Client Access using the TCP/IP interface running after an IPL you
need to have the following commands executed in your startup CL (QSTRUP):

STRTCP
STRHOSTSVR *ALL

That is assuming that you have TCP/IP set up correctly and that you have
Client Access installed.

Hello,
Question on running STRHOSTSVR. Every Saturday night I have my
machine turn itself off till Sunday morning, regular IPL. The machine
powers
up fine but the interface for client access doesn't run. So on Monday I'll
run STRHOSTSVR *all and everyone can log on with client access. Is there a
command to turn on the HOSTSVR when the AS400 powers up? It seems like it
should be a simple command, I've been looking through different manuals
today and still looking for an answer.
Thanks,
Art
