Jim, Paul Nicolay has published some code that does this. I think it is on the News/400 site (http://www.news400.com). Perhaps he will weigh in here with more information about what it does. I also did a port that connects to NIS and reports any time differences. It doesn't actually change you system time, but I think you could modify it to do this with a little programming. It's not one of our supported products, just a port of the NIS code with some hooks for AS/400 messages. If you are interested you can download it from here: http://www.patownsend.com/nistime.zip Patrick > Jim Waymire wrote: > > Is anyone aware of an automated method of synchronizing the AS/400 > time with an official time clock for regulatory purposes? > > Explanation: NASD requires us to provide accurate time stamps on > security orders when received, when executed, etc. At present, the > operator calls the time service, manually sets the time, and so....... > > Any suggestions would be appreciated... > > > > Jim Waymire > > Crowell, Weedon & Co. > > Los Angeles, Ca > > -- IBM AS/400 communications, FTP automation, and network security software and consulting services. http://www.patownsend.com +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
