Gerald,

You will have to rtm and trouble shoot.  Some places to look;
- Red Book "AS/400 Electronic Mail Capabilities" (SG24-4703) pp. 184-186 What to
Check When SMTP or POP3 Mail Does Not Work
- Red Book "IBM Firewall for AS/400" (SG24-2162) Appendix C. Mail Concepts
- Red Book "IBM AS/400 TCP/IP Configuration & Operation" (GG24-3442) Ch. 6 SMTP
Problem Analysis
(there was another book but the name escapes me)

The first thing you will want to do is to determine if the problem is with the
AS/400 or the firewall. If you change the smtp server in your e-mail client to
the secure port on the firewall, does it work? If so, the firewall is working
and the problem is with the AS/400.  Try restarting smtp on the AS/400;
endmsf
endtcpsvr *smtp
strtcpsvr *smtp
strmsf

There have been a lot of PTFs and they are not on the HIPER bulletins or the cum
CDs.  The latest PTFs for smtp on V4R2 as of June 10 are;
SF53419    1000    5769SS1
SF53541    1000    5769SS1
SF57040    1000    5769SS1
SF55697    1000    5769TC1
SF55704    1000    5769TC1
SF53084    1000    5769TC1

Good luck.
