  • Subject: Can a 150 use X.21?

A colleague and I are trying to configure an X.21 line over ISDN on two
150s.

The configuration is Short Hold Mode and works on all larger machines, but
this is the first time we've tried it on 150s.

The two machines are at V3R7 and V4R3. When we vary on the lines we get
CPD27CD:

Message . . . . : Line X21ISDN2 vary on failed.
Cause . . . . . : A configuration error was found by the system. The vary
on failed. The reason code is 0000200E. Reason codes and their meanings
  follow:
--0000200E: Protocol conflict between IOA and line description X21ISDN2.

We've tried adapter/cable tests. Removed all other cables, ensured it IPLs
as X.21 and the others are just 'Comm ports'.... but before we spend any
more time on this....

Can a 150 MFIOP (6756-002) and card (2721-001) be used for X.21?

TIA

Brendan Bispham
