Rally allows you to specify Autorun so if you select a transfer request, it opens, runs, and closes automatically. Is there a similar function under CA 3.2.0 (besides RTOPCB and RFROMPCB)? Alternately, you can move to Synapse NetWolf which has lots of extensions to their industrial strength file transfer. Like: single batch mode, multiple xfer batch mode, lots of output file types (easily more than CA) including .dbf which is good because it brings down the data dictionary from the DDS with the data and everything PC wise is .dbf literate. Further, it is callable from VB or C++ and allows for messaging to keep tract of its status to you can determine what to do next in your pgm based on completion, error out, or the like. Lastly, it is faster than CA/400 if time is an issue for you. The previous SNA version (WinAPPC) was actually 6 (yes six) times faster than CA/400. I had a guy with a 96 hour download and when he moved to Synapse he dropped the time to 17 hours. Claimer: I sell, use, recommend and support http://www.synapse.com products.
