Per Frank Soltis who is making a national Consultants Roadshow tour we can (at
least at this time) expect the next release announcement to be the usual second
Tuesday in February 2000. Just when that release will be GA wasn't stated
<grin>.
No direct word from him as to what will be in that release but he intimated that
we'd, of course, see better Java performance and support for whatever the latest
release of the Java standard release happens to be at that time if it can be
gotten in and tested in time. Also possibly more enhancements to RPG IV. Also it
would include support for Enterprise Java beans if that support doesn't make it
out with the gigantic fall database PTF or another PTF in Q4. Additionally it
would have expanded clustering capabilities as well as support for 16 and 24 way
machines.
